Raine Tallis Sebille sat at the table in her kitchen, tapping her lucky pen against her forehead. She'd begun writing almost monthly stories for an ezine but she was beginning to run out of ideas. It was a hot day and the air felt thick and wet and unappetizing. The girl's hair stuck to her skin in damp heaps and she hoped an idea would strike soon; she was holding the lucky pen, so it could only be a matter of time before she was off and writing. It was all a question of when. Secretly, the girl was hoping it would rain more than she was thinking about what to write. The sky had been gray all day, but it didn't even spit. Raine put her sweaty head down on the table, "Rain, damn it," she mumbled.
